Eyoatab’s Life!
THIS IS EYOATAB, FROM ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA. HE WAS BORN WITH A FAULTY HEART THAT REQUIRES URGENT SURGERY.
Eyoatab is the youngest of 3 children, with a 6-year-old brother and a 3-year-old sister. His father works as a driver and his mother works in customer service.
Eyoatab was born with pulmonary stenosis, a serious congenital heart defect that interferes with the flow of blood to the lungs, resulting in dangerously low levels of oxygen. His life depends on complex surgery that cannot be performed in Ethiopia. The Children’s Heart Fund in Addis Ababa referred him to Save a Child’s Heart.
Eyoatab’s life-saving surgery requires funding of $15,000.
Please open your heart and help repair his faulty heart.

Child's Story
Age: 1
From: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Suffers from: Shortness of breath and chest pain
Condition: Pulmonary stenosis, a congenital condition in which a deformity on or near the heart’s pulmonary valve slows blood flow to the lungs. A balloon stent, inserted using cardiac catheterization, can usually resolve this kind of problem.
Physicians in Ethiopia are unable to perform the required procedure. The Children’s Heart Fund referred Eyoatab’s mother to Save a Child’s Heart.
Eyoatab’s family are hopeful that he’ll be able to come to Israel soon for a procedure that can change his life, and theirs.
Eyoatab is a playful little boy, who enjoys spending time with his older brother and sister, and loves eating oatmeal and bananas. His mother, Bethlehem Baharu, works as a customer service representative for a local company, and his father, Yelma, is employed as a driver.
From the time he was born, Eyoatab suffered from poor blood circulation, evidenced by shortness of breath and chest pains. His mother was heartbroken when she heard the doctor’s diagnosis of pulmonary stenosis, and learned that the required treatment was not available locally.
For his family, knowing that Save a Child’s Heart can save Eyoatab and give him a normal life was the answer to their prayers. They are hoping to travel together to Israel for his treatment.
