Pamet Yann’s Life!
PAMET YANN SAINT LÉON FROM THE BANDORO REGION IN THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC – A LITTLE BOY WHO DREAMS OF BECOMING A DOCTOR, BUT WHOSE HEART IS FAILING HIM.
Pamet Yann has two older brothers and two big sisters. While his mother keeps house, his father works as a school teacher. The family of seven shares a two-room home.
Pamet Yann was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a life-threatening multiple congenital heart defect that leaves him breathless and feverish, sometimes turning blue due to lack of oxygen. His condition deteriorated to the point where it was difficult for him to continue walking to school. Without complex surgery his chances of survival are poor. He and his family hope that Save a Child’s Heart can save his life.
Pamet Yann’s life-saving surgery requires funding of $15,000.

Child's Story
Age: 5
From: Kpetene Village, Central African Republic (CAR)
Suffers from: Chronic fatigue, breathlessness, fainting, cyanosis
Condition: Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect with four abnormalities that reduces oxygen levels in the blood and can lead to an early death.
Physicians in the CAR were unable to perform the complex surgery required to mend Pamet Yann’s heart.
Pamet Yann’s family are praying that Save a Child’s Heart in Israel will enable him to lead a normal life.
Pamet Yann is a shy boy, but very kind and curious. He attends a public kindergarten where he studies in French, but his mother tongue is Sango. He enjoys eating rice, and loves sports, especially soccer, but is no longer able to play.
When he was six months old, Pamet Yann began experiencing severe symptoms, including breathlessness, fevers, weakness, fainting and turning blue. He and his family had to walk for 5 kilometers to reach the nearest hospital. There, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect that reduces the amount of oxygen carried by the blood, and requires surgical repair that cannot be performed in the CAR.
Pamet Yann’s family was put in touch with Save a Child’s Heart through Edward David Hooley, the President of the NGO, SENITIZO. Although they were disconsolate when they first learned of their son’s condition, they are now filled with hope.
Pamet Yann dreams of becoming a doctor when he grows up.
